Beeing a leader or a coworker is a constant cooperation / balancing act with others
In my experience one of the more important areas to address is the balance between feeling and logic,
in my vocabulary Heart and Mind
Heart and Mind Management provides Assessment, Coaching, Training, Workshops supporting in management and organisation effectiveness
We updated the homepage on 30 April 2025
I have recorded spoken presentations on the following subjects and launched them, and also updated the homepage

Humility
Humility is the quality of being humble, which means having a modest view of one's own importance. It involves recognising one's strengths and weaknesses without arrogance, being open to learning, and respecting others' perspectives.
Key Aspects of Humility:
Self-awareness: Understanding personal limitations and being willing to grow.
Respect for others: Valuing other people's contributions and opinions.
Gratitude: Appreciating what you have without feeling superior.
Willingness to learn: Accepting feedback and continuously improving.
Example: Giving credit to your team for a group success or someone’s individual success instead of taking all the glory yourself.
Humility helps build strong relationships, encourages teamwork, and fosters personal and professional growth

Courage
Courage is the ability to face fear, challenges, or difficulties with confidence and determination. It means taking action despite feeling afraid, standing up for what is right, and persevering through hardships.
Types of Courage:
Physical Courage: Facing physical danger or
challenges, like firefighters saving lives.
Moral Courage: Standing up for beliefs and values, even when it's
unpopular.
Emotional Courage: Expressing feelings and being vulnerable
Example: Speaking out against injustice in your community.
Courage helps people grow, overcome obstacles, and make positive changes in their lives and society.

Compassion
Compassion is the ability to understand and feel for the suffering of others, combined with a genuine desire to help.
It goes beyond empathy by motivating action to alleviate pain or difficulties faced by others.
Key Aspects of Compassion:
Empathy: Feeling and understanding others’ emotions.
Kindness: Taking steps to support and help those in
need.
Patience: Being understanding and nonjudgmental.
Selflessness: Putting others' well-being before personal
gain.
Example:
- Volunteering at a shelter to help those in need.
- Assisting someone else in his or her struggles.
Compassion strengthens relationships, fosters kindness, and creates a more caring and connected society.

Gratitude

helps.

work accivments.

Respect
Respect is a feeling of deep admiration for someone, or something elicited by abilities, qualities and achievements. The trust needs to be earned – it doesn’t come with the appointment.
Respect is a big word. There needs to be mutual respect within the group but also mutual respect between the group and the leader.
A succesfully lead group will earn trust from other colleagues and customers.
Creating Respect by:
1.Consistency
2. Integrity
3. Empathy
4. Competence
5. Communication
6. Humility
7. Respect for Others
By incorporating these principles in your words and actions, you can earn the respect of others and build strong, positive relationships.

Development
General Challenges:
- Make use of all the knowledge inside (cross functional) and outside the
company (e.g. suppliers, research, competitors)
- Make sure that everyone understand their role and importance in how
development is done
- Perform activities to mitigate risks (Finance, Quality, Functionality,
Requirement and Components)
Can be done in different ways:
- Waterfall development (usually performed in Projects)
- Iterative development (usually performed in Projects)
- AGILE development (used a lot in Software creation)
- Diversified Development (performed in daily work) The trend in the
industry seems to go this way
- Waterfall development
The basic thinking around a Waterfall project is to have a checklist of things needed to be handled before each gate (step in the process).
The steering committee controles that the checklist is performed and
approves deviations to the checklist if needed.
Development is performed simultaneously to all functions and parts of
the project.
The activities in the checklist can be very detailed meaning that this
way of steering is quite detailed.
- Iterative development
You appoint a project leader to run the project and a steering group to
steer it
You prioritise what are the most important requirements, functionality
or components to develop first, concentrate on them and let the rest
be.
Evaluate the working product, service, education, production… and
debug (the total functionality of the to be product is not there yet but it
works)
Start a new iteration by prioritising most important requirements,
functionalities or parts to develop and you start a new development
loop
This way of development is used a lot in the software industry.
After a number of iterations, the to be product has the full functionality
and meets all the requirements and you can start to produce.
- AGILE development
A way to work where you strive to get feedback very quickly, from a
working product that has a limited number of working functions.
Letting the feedback lead you in your development.
In Software development this method is used (with software there are
possibilities to achieve a working software having limited functions and
then gradually work towards a fully functional software)
- Diversified Development
Instead of running projects, the trend in the industry is to use the
Diversified Development
If the evaluation is done efficiently you can start producing after one
loop, of course depending on your production.
Defining interfaces allows you to run development in different parts,
functions or organisations in parallell.
Different groups or persons run different developments
autonomously and in parallell (make sure that the total
crossfunctional knowledge is used).
This way to work everyday, is a very efficient and fast way of
working where no project leader is appointed.
Each change needs to apply for and reserve money separately.
The company culture, the leadership style and the way to use self
leadership all need to support that there is trust in everyone to take
decisions and inform the rest of the organisation.
The coworkers are responsible to identify what needs to be done
now and next (you need to read Leadership, Self Leadership,
Development and Quality Culture in parallell)
